Quarantine: Alternate Ending

Angela and Scott run frantically into the attic. In the pitch black of the attic the only source of light is coming from Scott's camera. They look around to find cages of rats surrounding them. Taped to walls are numerous articles about viral outbreaks. Also in the room is a medical examination table drenched in gore. Around it are bloodied surgical instruments. On the tables around the room are files containing photos of bodies with abnormalities.

There is an attic door above them. Scott moves to open the door. When he reaches for it the door automatically comes crashing down with a naked, deformed humanoid figure falling to the floor. Angela screams in absolute terror. Scott grabs her hand and the two run out of the attic room and back into the main atrium staircase.

The staircase is covered with the infected residents. As the residents spot them and begin to charge their way, Jake appears from a side door to block their path. Jake is drenched in blood from being previously attacked but the rabid infection has not yet completely consumed his body. He is holding a fireman's oxygen tank in his hand. He looks back at Angela and Scott who begin to run into the door Jake appear from. Just as they slam the door behind them they hear a huge explosion and the whole apartment complex shakes at its foundation.

Angela and Scott slowly come out of the room and back into the atrium. They see a bloodied mess sprayed all around them. Gore drips from the walls, stairs, and ceiling. Body parts are strewn across the floor. Small fires burn brightly around them.

They room as fast as they can down to the basement. Angela fumbles with the keys. Scott is looking into the camera while he cleans the lens. Scott gets surprised from behind as the attic creature grabs his face and pulls his head back, separating it from the spine. The camera falls to the floor. Angela gets the door open, kicks the creature back, grabs the camera and rushes into the basement to escape. The camera cuts off.

We see footage of Angela climbing up out of a manhole in the street half a block away from the apartment complex. The apartment complex is still surrounded by cops, fire trucks and the CDC. The footage is being shown on a television. We see Angela sitting on her couch watching the footage. The footage cuts to a reporter talking about the events that happened inside the apartment complex and the investigation that is underway behind the cover-up. Angela leans back and smiles.
